Nice summary. For your type of riding and can really recommend the Piket-Bo-Berg race as well. By far the best single track I have done in a race.

Just be prepared for that 10km ST climb at the start.

Yeah I am good with climbing...but it has to be a what goes up must come down thing...haha...not just up and up and up!

That's true. I used the 63km as a training ride for W2W, and boy was it tough! It was way tougher than any of the W2W days, but it set me up to be fitter in W2W than ever before. It was an incredibly rewarding ride though.

It's good. Did my first PBB this year. Started with the 27km. It is one race you should not underestimate. I would suggest you start with the 37km if you have never done it before. I was planning to do the 37km, but was out for 4 months because of a knee injury, so decided to tone down to the 27km. The 63km is a tough ride.

There were a few nice rides to do leading up to the w2w, mine was the Nissan Trailseeker / Spur Classic / One Tonner.  For sure made be feel fitter and confident with the uphills

Don't know about their special bikes at the front end, but I did see some e-bikes at the back end of the race.

That was something I also noticed, did check them out, and seems the two ladies I saw had a DNF next to their names

Yeah saw them as well. Had a chat to them apparently they asked and were told that they could ride no problem. They weren't very good on the old ST though...hahaha

So Groot Lem was saying on twitter that the leading ladies have some special bike or something?

Not sure if its not sponsored or what?

Anyone have a clue?

He was referring to jenny stenerhag bike, removed scott branding, replaced with CBC branding, something about bike brand getting exposure from her results yet she has purchase her own bike

The one bloke I saw was pushing his on the easy to ride berms in Gaf Se Bos.

But I am not judging. At least he was out there riding, and not sitting on a couch watching TV.
