Good day everyone in hubland

I've currently got a Focus Cayo Evo with Sram Force 22 and Power2Max power meter. ive got the option of upgrading the groupset to Sram Etap(Just shiftset) or possibly a different frame.

What would you guys do? The groupset, I feel is a nice to have while a different frame will actually change the way the bike feels/characteristics etc...

Budget is 20k

All advice and opinions welcome!

Sram Force 22 is a great groupset as is - that would be the last thing I'd upgrade on your bike. I don't think changing the shiftset would make that much of a difference for your money. I would go for a frame upgrade or a wheelset upgrade (obviously depending on what wheelset you are currently on), but think those would give you the biggest bang for your buck!

Yeah. (Way to go with being all responsible with giving good advice and sheet..DAD!)

Just check that you new frame will be compatible with your current groupset - specifically front derailleur mount and BB.

And then there's THIS

I'm still to be convinced about electronic benefits.

So as the others have said, possibly more noticeable benefits to be derived from frame/wheels.

That said, any (very) good Etap deals going around.?

After a year and a half on the eTaps......no benefit.  Just awesomeness.

Not sure where you are in terms of your riding / racing / training, but have you considered a power meter to upgrade your crank? Training with power will most likely have a much bigger effect on your fitness and racing and will fit well within your budget so you will be able to add a training program, coaching or something to that tune.

OP already has a power meter according to his original post

What would you upgrade to? The focus looks like quite a tidy bike IMO and there aren't many of them around. I doubt you could get a Colnago, Bianchi or some such beauty for 20k so I'd wonder about the whether the upgrade would actually be an upgrade. A Propel or Tarmac is nice but it isn't exactly "special" if you know what I mean.

I'd get the E-Tap. Yes it's not going to materially affect your fitness or performance. But it goes zzzt when you shift gears. And that is worth at least 5 watts.

So this is my Focus

I have got a pair of Light Bicycle 45mm wheels laced to Hope RS Mono hubs. the complete bike comes in at about 7,8kgs as per pic and Id like to save some weight if thats possible.

The Etap will be nice but Ive seen a this and I like it alot

The Chapter2 that Iwan posted is soooooooooo nice and its definitely an option. Its maybe not a well known brand but its still cheaper than a Canyon(Ultimate R23k ex shipping and taxes).

That said, theres absolutely nothing with my Focus, ive got an itch...thats all!

was just about to say put the money to a good set of carbon deep section wheels.

then i noticed you live in the western cape.

if you do go for a frame. get the Canyon. splurge!

i have seen so few and each time i have seen them i have had such envy!
