A couple of years ago now but . . .

Within a week of buying my latest bike, an Epic Comp Carbon, I failed to secure the top grip on a tow-bar mounted Thule bike rack. As a result the bike, whilst still secured to the rack by both wheels, bounced out of the top grip leaving Northern Farm and fell backwards down onto the road and was dragged for some distance with one end of the handle bar as the contact point.

I lost several cm of handle bar but stopped seconds before the Tarmac started eating into the brake leaver. . . . .

Happy ending.

At least now I know I'm not paranoid for driving and keeping my eyes focused on my rear view mirror about 90% of the time.

I lock our bikes onto the bike rack with a big U Bolt lock and thick cable.Makes it more difficult for a casual thief to steal when we are stopped in traffic.

Edit: spelling

Not a bad idea.

My girlfriend hates me so much sometimes as I flat out refuse to pop into a shop when my bike is on the back of my car.

You could always chain her to the bike?

someone saw A guy walking around A squatter camp with it , confronted the man and took the bike then found a post on facebook about the bike , my friend had the bike back A day or two later

How dare he assume that a guy in a squatter camp having a downhill bike is suspicious!
