Thinking of using GT on the top tube for protection against scratches. Already have a thicker protection layer on the down tube.

Question though for the experts - I'll be applying it to a carbon frame (raw / matte finish). Any reason I should not be using it? Any potential discolouring or residue issues on the frame over time?

The clear tape is a mofo to get off your frame again. It is super sticky.

Not sure how well it protects but it is pretty thick compared to other clear tapes.

Thanks DR. Any other alternatives maybe when it comes to a tape?

I only need something for the top tube, so not really keen on buying a full bike protection pack just for that one piece.

I just used a bit under the section I strapped my tube to. Removed it the other day, it was a b**ch to get off, no way I'd ever put that everywhere on the bike.

I ran it on both my bikes as frame protectors. Didnt last very long in the high wear areas, and was a mission of note to get off my my bike. Ended up heating it with a hair dryer as it reduced the glue residue upon removal.

Rather buy a proper frame protection kit
