I am actually scared to log into endo to see how far down I have dropped since the op. Can't wait to get back to commuting, Driving to work sucks.

Won't be as bad as me :)

I'm allowed to ride outside again in 2 weeks time (after 3.5 months off) - that's a huge motivator as I assumed a min of 6 months off. But my hip flexion is still limited and can only hold my race bike handlebars with one hand but slowly improving and can't / won't complain :)

I commuted for 2.5 years (every work day of the year) but to start again maybe a huge mental obstacle. Safety is critical as we have poor protection as cyclists! Don't take dangerous short cuts (or in my case unsafe longer detours).

Bud, you have no idea how bad I felt when I overtook you. We should start a group for all us addicts that aren't allowed to ride. I see the surgeon on Monday, hope I get the all clear to get back onto the bike slowly. TBH I haven't even tried but I suspect my shoulder will hurt, especially on the road bike. Glad you can ride soon.

After a closer inspection my bike is a write-off :(

Alu frame (top tube) has a big dent, back rim needs replacing and both brake cables snapped.

I may have to commute with my nice mtbike :)

After a slam like that I would not trust any component on that bike to be honest.

Speaking of which, I almost got wiped out by ... a Taxi yesterday on my commute home.  Yes a taxi here in Munich.  I did use the oppurtunity to teach him some English and French words of choice.

Eish my chain snapped on the way in this morning . Luckily I could jump on the Myciti got some dirty looks tho.

I actually carry a tool bottle in my one bottle cage and in it is also a spare chain link and chain breaker.  With a min 35 km commute I don't want a snapped chain along the way.  Has never happened to me though.  I check chain wear fairly often and replace the chains when they get to 75%

Cycled home in a proper storm yesterday.  Hail and thunderstorm hit us from the South (the direction I need to travel home).  Decided to work an hour longer so that the worst of it could pass but still left here in heavy rain but at least the thunder and hail passed.  Second half of the commute was almost in sunshine but the amount of mud and dirt washed over the road was immense.  Poor roadbike looks like I dug it out of a hole.

what times do you ride in?

We leave the VET opposite Bayside at 6:45am sharp every morning

Morning and what sort of pace do  you guys ride at?

Yes I will have to look at doing that too. Its going to be a long ride home with the bus, and a late evening slapping on new cassette and chain. Luckily I got the parts already.

No LBS near by to do it for you during lunch?

what time was this .... I find there are just a couple of bus riders that have a sense of entitlement and snub a cyclist on the bus....but I like it when they voice their opinions and you get to point out the sticker showing that bikes are allowed :P. Where in town are you?

20-25km .... or rather at a pace where one can talk and make jokes
