I did a commute from Lakeside this morning with a tailwind of 50km/h .... I was freewheeling uphill ????????????

Wife's brother works on cruise ships and comes down every 5 or so months ... then he goes to Houtbay and buys a "ship load" of sea food. That sea food he is bringing over tonight for us to make.

 

Now him and his partner also bring lots of wine and other liquid refreshments .... and then I need to be on a site in Worcester early tomorrow morning .... so what I am saying is that the no. of beers need to be kept low

Not sure of someone here that commutes that area.  I do know however someone who does who is not on the hub.  So if you have questions I can try and get the info for you.

 

He lives in Moreletta Park and commutes to Midrand.  His commute would look something like this.

Question regarding the rules:

 

If I join my riding mate for a ride before work (carrying my backpack with me) and afterwards go to work, may I tag it as a commute?

 

Technically it is a commute to work, just a long detour haha.

I have only ridden 260 times this year, so falling a little short. But it is great to see that biking to work is slowly catching on. Spotted a kitted out e-bike comutter this morning, she had basket, lights, lock and all the bells and whistles. Great to see it catching on.

Yes. Not a requirement to take the shortest route.  You are allowed to take a detour on your way to work or back from work.
