Brilliant, Grant from Sprocket and Jack can help me with a ride for Struit, can't wait now, even with V12man / eddy to show me round. What an amazing response ????

Just need to get Thursday morning free as well now for that ride out with FirstV8 ????

I stay 6 km from the airport so logistically it would work out well riding with us on the 18th . My offer would be to sleep over at my house on Wednesday , get the bike set up in the evening and do the ride on Thursday . Come home to my place clean up relax at the pool and ill take you to the airport to catch your flight . I only need to know what pedals /cleats do you ride .

Glad to see you followed my advice to ask on thehub eeeuhm bikehub. You will experience South African hospitality second to none or very few. God I miss that place.

Enjoy your rides but beware once the(south) African bug bites you will have to come back.

edit:

Don't let this guys talk to you about the drakensberg, inland westeren cape Knysna, Pietremaritzburg and so. Dont look at their ride picture albums. You won't rgret but your walleet will cos now you will have to regularly buy a plane ticket to go and ride their secret gems.

Yip, trying to find an appropriate analogy.

Imagine all South African trails are Olympic athletes. Make that female Olympic athletes.

Jo'burg trails are like the weight lifters, Karkloof like synchronised swimmers and Knysna like the Brazilian beach volleyball team.

All excellent in their own way, but somehow different.......

Cmon people - we can't take an international visitor to the Spruit! That's like going to the Cape and drinking box wine....

Surely you guys can get the man to an actual mtb park? Bigredbarn? Modders?

Good point Eldron, Modders is closer to the airport than the Spruit and it offers proper riding.

Cool! Lunch at 33 High Road afterwards is compulsory of course. Pizza oven, coffee roaster  and brewery all in one - tough to beat :-)

@Bream - you have to go back to SA and visit Cape Town. Joberg trails are fun but we lack the gradients for "proper" trails. The Cape has some epic bike parks - Trail Park will blow your mind.

If you don't come right with a bike, I have a large Specialised Epic Sworks that you could use, on the condition that Eddy and or V12 are there....

I am in CPT all of next week, but I can arrange to drop it at Eddy's on the weekend.

A very generous offer, many thanks, I also race an S-Works Epic WC so I do love this type of bike. I'll check with Eddy and V12 and see what they recommend. This would also give more flexibility to ride I think than taking a bike from Sprocket and Jack and I guess with them I'd have to ride around their opening hours etc. I'll come back to you soon.
