Yoh.... entry level at R72500...

Dudes are obviously earning a LOT of money to make this a viable business model.

That said, the bikes look rad. Heard only good things about the Slackline as well, so I am pretty sure the ride quality is phenomenal.

Super cool to see. Hopefully the company goes from strength to strength and we can start seeing way more Stage and Stage max's making brake bumps on the greenbelt....

(jealousy has made me nasty but also... yeah)

Always thought it was us blokes riding Spez that did that

I test rode a slackline - size large (and I am really a small - can get away with a medium maybe) and I was blown away by the ability of the slakline to pedal - felt like a cross county bike - and the little I played with it on the downslope it was very good = definitely need to retest one in medium or if they ever release it a small.

I also thought so, until I saw the spec.

If I compare the Slakline to the Giant reign, it comes out pretty well. Giant has carbon rims, but that's the only place it wins, really... Giant is R 74,500, Slakline is R 78,500

If I were to choose... I dunno, eh. I'd honestly be hard pressed, and prob go Pyga.

Full XT 1*11 (deore crank) vs GX Eagle & Code RSC

Carbon TRX rims vs ARC 30 (only place Giant wins, really)

Giant cockpit vs Renthal cockpit

Fox 36 Performance vs Lyrik RCT3

X2 Performance vs Super Deluxe RC3 (OEM x2 doesn't have as much adjustment as aftermarket)

150mm Giant dropper vs 160mm bikeyoke dropper

Both very good tyres...

Yeah, I get you, but that is entry level.

They don't have bikes that sell for less that 70k. The end.

Giant have alloy bikes with low to medium spec, low specced carbon all the way up to 75k.

Having a base price point that high cuts out a lot of the market.

My point was not that it wasn't worth it, just that it is an extremely high bar.

I am 100% sure the bikes ride amazingly. I'm sure I would look like a camp site if I got to test one, but having no 'lower tier' option shuts out people like me and I will probably only become interested in them as a brand again if things get a bit more down to earth.

If they don't then their top tier business model is working, which would be awesome for them and surprising for me.

I get what Jewacca is saying. It's a really high entry-point for their new AM rigs.

An alloy model would help to bring the entry-point down a bit.

Was looking at them last night and would consider supporting them and buying another great SA bike.

BUT

Long term customer support and company prospects worry me.

I’m still miffed about my Zula becoming extinct a few years after I went to a lot of trouble to get one here.

No worries like that if I look at a Canyon, Spaz, Giant, BMC, etc....

Does anybody know why they are now only doing carbon frames? I know they had some minor reliability issues with the OneTen breaking at a weld - although that is probably how rumours start.
