How is the Streak Rear Light from Marvel?

Looking for a basic rear light for use on early morning road rides for the wife and myself.

Seeing as it's currently on special for R150 and it is USB rechargeable I am hoping this will be a good cost-effective solution

Not sure what the Marvel Streak Light rear is like, but I bought a Giant Numen+ Spark Mini TL from one of the LBS' this side. It's only 20 Lumens but fook, it's bright.

It has solid or flashing modes at different light intensities... Highest is pretty bright. No doubt, there are brighter ones, but for R150? nah... it's plenty. Get two if can.

Charge-wise, i use the flashing mode, so battery lasts longer. Typically, I get two decent evening rides and an early morning ride that ends in daylight out of a full charge. I'd say about 6hrs.

My mate and I each purchased a Marvel Blast 2200 a few months back.

They work brilliantly and come in super handy during load shedding- lights up half my home

You must have a small house.

Has anyone used the Marvel battery with another Chinese light? I can't see clearly from the cwc product image if the female jack on the battery is the standard round type.

Should work. Will test their battery pack on my Extreme light (also a China light).

Slightly larger male pin than the extremelight uses. I can't use my EL charger with the marvel

If needed cut off the connectors and fit matching pins to get them all alike.

Just beware, lights and batteries come in 4.2c and 8.4v flavors. Don't mix them up. I've found most of the cheap lights are 4.2v.

Oh and the extreme light batteries are more expensive because they use better cells.

Played around with my 900 Lumen over the weekend, and having trouble getting the battery to fit snug on the top tube. Going to have to find a way around that.

Hasn't been a problem yet, but I'll need to trim the cable on the marvel one cos its just stupidly long. May take that opportunity to do just that.

Mine is like the Magic light connector.

Just got my 2200 lumen light. Super impressed. Also very impressed with the R150 tail light. Superb build quality. Now only wait for the Free state winter to pass, to be able to start using it on early morning rides.

not fun. i was cycling at Modders at night on the Green on my own feeling safe and fun and heading back on the long way out by the fence and my light died.

dark is dark and moonlight does not help much. it sucks. i saw a faint light ahead and thought this is it i am being bike jacked. got my knife ready as it was either back into the big reserve and it was cold and dark- or out. i headed out and the light was the torch of a security guard on a bike.

2 lights only way to go.

Easiest backup light is to take a simple camping headlamp. If you have a decent one even better!

I have helped loads of people with my spare headlamp over the years

Next to its replacement...Extreme light. Just could not justify the price of the Extreme battery ( price against how long the original Extreme light battery lasted) ...
