Yeah, it is indented. Makes the most sense for the seat tube, doesn't work so leka with the top tube. Ended up strapping my wife's between her saddle and the saddle bag, so looks quite neat

Eh, Houston, I have a problem here.

Unless I strap some tape around the top of the battery

You could potentially move it a bit higher, that it clears your back light, or place the strap for the battery pack first then put your rear light back on

I have the same issue when using the light on my road bike. However, luckily I have the CWC Marvel light, where you can switch the light from vertical to horizontal, clearing space for the light battery  :D There is over enough space on a MTB seat post though to keep the light vertical.

Ja, I should've gone for the Marvel rear light. Marvel is better than DC imo.

So, has anybody experienced short run time on the Marvel 900 front light? Like maybe lasted 10kms? Or should I plug the battery out and make sure it is fully charged before every ride and not leave it plugged into the light? Seems strange that it dropped out so quickly.

If you are commuting with the light and not commuting really really far, pop your battery into an old water bottle and put a spacer like pool noodle around it to stop rattling and then use the front bottle cage to hold it, rear bottle cage for water. There was a company making huge rechargeable water bottle batteries at one stage as well.

I have this light, I unplug it between rides after charging. So far the battery is very good. If the light takes ages to charge (like 4 to 5 hours) the battery is good. If the light charges in 30 minutes, for example, battery is pap.

Will have a look, left them plugged in for a week and didn't last very long, will test it out and see what happens. Light takes long to charge, so maybe it's just me

For my Chinese Aliexpress lights, when you leave it plugged in there is still a small LED green light battery burning on the back of the main light, so this does use up battery. With the Marvel light, the green LED does not burn if you leave it plugged in after charging, so I would think that it shouldn't use up as much battery leaving it plugged it. I suppose you could test this, charge it fully, plug it in for a while, then see how much charging it will take.

I think it continues to drain power while plugged in, best to unplug it from the battery when storing the bike

Well, after the initial test, there's a few observations on the 2200 lumen unit.

1 - like most chinese lights, this is DEFINITELY not as bright as advertised. 2,200 lumen is most likely the max output of the 5 LED's if driven at the max amperage of the LED's. These are most likely driven at a fraction of their max.

2 - GREAT spread of light.

3 - it's HUGE.

4 - Paired with my ExtremeLights Core unit on my head, it's a great combination for riding on tech trails at night

5 - For R 600, it's a bargain.

MY experienced, taking inspiration from the above -

Saw this at Sportsmans yesterday:

Wonder if it would be a worthy replacement in case anything goes wrong with the Marvel?

i think the biggest issue on these lights are the cheap batteries. They dont last too long.

A replacement battery is more than the kit itself.

I bought the Marvel because my extreme lights battery is pap after just about a year. It now just lasts 30 mins on full. a new battery from extreme is R900.
