I always pop. Usually just by squeezing it hard. Flippin sore and when it does go its a murder scene. Sterilize the area etc etc? Pfffft. Pop it, wipe the blood with some TP, put your siht on and go ride your bike.

Realized my spez bib gave me sores too. Also just pop. Ain't nobody got time fo doctors.

I did however pour a bottle of dettol in the washing machine which seemed to work.

Exactly.

Think of the poor doctors man! Poor guy studied 10 years so that he has to shove his face into your hairy crack to inspect a massive zit, perched nicely under your nutsack.

I used to have issues with this, went to my GP, gave me a script for 1l of surgical iodine scrub. I keep it in the shower, once a month the under carriage gets a scrub with the orange foam. Never had a saddle sore since.

Tried going back to dischem to get some more, apparently they dont just sell the stuff willy nilly...

I suppose there are saddle sores and then there are saddle sores.

If I get them there is no way of popping them - too deep.

If I eat concrete and htfu it just gets worse.

They are there for a couple of weeks so basically it's off the bike for me.

Prevention - Prevention -Prevention.

Mess with them at your own peril.

Team Sky do grant tours with 10 washing machines now.  To prevent contamination no two riders will have their kit washed in the same washing machine.

Apparently this has massively reduced the occurrence of saddle sores.

I'm just thinking about the huge laundry service at the Epic and how your bib is washed along with the bibs of lots of other sweaty blokes

Agree.... BIG difference between a “massive zit” that is open to the outside, and a deep proper saddle sore - the latter should rather be handled with care
