Those Halo headbands are really pricey. They sell for $10 in the US, I bought a pair. Why so expensive here?

Please apply that to almost everything bike related. Things here are way more expensive a lot of the time here. Either it's bad exchange rates, big import tax, luxury goods tax or something else that jacks to the prices here but it is never a surprise and always expected.
