I use mainly Postnet simply as its easier for me, I hate paperwork and the friendly local Postnet guys do that for me, also this branch is near my home and work. It takes a few days to get to the recipient but I have never had a problem.

1 or 2 hubbers insisted on Aramex and I did that for them- they either preferred Aramex or had no nearby Postnet, which for me means driving a bit further to my local PnP to fill in the Aramex form.

Aramex is quicker but for me Postnet is easier and more convenient.

Postnet has always been good when I'm buying/selling.

Once there was a delay of about two days but that was because the Postnet on the receiving end was in the middle of "WhereTheFokAreWe" and so the parcel had to take detour through a main branch first...but I was warned of the delay and buyer was happy to wait.

If a buyer wants what I'm selling the next morning, they can organize their own courier to pick it up...

Not talking about jumping through hoops here.

The standard arrangement seems to be "Buyer responsible for postage"

Sure, if the seller can find a buyer that's willing to collect (instead of delivering because he's a lazy twat) then by all means, but it's expected that buyers should pick up the tab for an item that YOU are selling

I don't see Cash Crusaders driving after sellers

anyway, just my view on the matter

If you don't like it then don't buy it?

If the seller really wants to sell to you then he will help out - if they aren't willing to help out then they probably don't really care if you buy it or not. There are many potential buyers - only one seller.

The sellers generally advertise at a fair price for the product - not for the product + courier.

I don't see Cash Crusaders driving after buyers either to be completely honest.

Good thread this.

I've never had issues with Postnet. Close by & convenient.

I can echo your experience, I’ve not had any issue/hassles with Postnet previously, Postnet Woodmead is about 1km from work and on my way home. Staffed by friendly and competent people, I’ve really only recently experienced a serious drop in service. This certainly cannot be at the franchises, but it must be in their distribution network. My other obvious and preferred convenient option has been Aramex dropboxes at PnP because there is one nearly at home.

Ironically 100m from Postnet is one of those new DSV boxes, never used that service before.

From this thread I really want to try The Courier Guy.

I just want to ensure that the items I sell reach the buyer as soon and safe as possible. Just as I’d like to get my stuff quickly...

Don't know about you guys, but I always try and take pics of the items before boxing and after boxing and send this to the buyer .... along with a pic of the receipt with tracking no. etc.

So if the goods are smashed at the other end, the buyer has recourse over the courier as he / she can prove the condition on a dated pic before transit.

Personally I prefer the Aramex PnP option, my reasons are as follows:

1.  They deliver to your door(Work, home, etc.), so the buyer gets a better experience.  He does not have to drive somewhere to collect his parcel.

2.  All PnP's have the Aramex option, so I just need to get to a PnP to send the parcel off, I can do it at the time I go do some shopping.  Not all towns have a Postnet.

3.  The price is the same, even though the service is not.  Store-to-door vs Postnet-to-Postnet, Overnight vs 3 days+

If you compare and take the best value for money option...it will most likely turn out to be Aramex.
