Point taken.............. quietly leaving....

Hehe. I think we both feel the same way. Great budget brake. Mine will be on my bike in the Alps next month for a proper test.

Provided I get my passport in time....

This tread is not a slate of Avid brakes. The ones on my bike are not in good condition and I would like to replace them. The levers are very hard.

In the meantime, I am replacing the pads and rotors until I can afford a new disk brake set.

Take them to a good LBS, ask them to properly bleed them, and with properly bedded pads and good quality discs, you will be amazed by the transformation. Modulation on those brakes are great, they are not "on / off switches", you can control your braking perfectly.

I read all these reviews but still ordered a set from Edge Design last week. Can't wait to have them installed

Bought mine from him too. GREAT PRICE!! Great brakes. Super happy.

Get your Avids bled first. The Rs aren't the best thing that Avid made, but they're definitely not rubbish if they're working properly.

Me too.... great price and great service from Edge!

did you install yourself? i'm considering it, but just a bit worried as the rear hose would be internally routed, although only in downtube...

Not a problem... Carefully undo from lever end, feed from back wheel up through the tubes and

re-button up.... If done properly you wont need to re-bleed.

Yes installed myself, not a difficult job... if you unsure check YouTube for pointers or rather get your LBS to do.
