You dude, it was a while ago but its was a tongue in cheek post, listed like 7.

Just looked on Twitter and couldn't find it... if I see it I'll post it.

If its not easy to find, its not a problem and not worth your time. Thanks though :)

BUT you could have been the 1 in 100 00 who ended up with GBS and I can tell you I will take flu 100 over GBS

The report, which may or may not be scientifically sound, only talks about one specific batch of flu vaccines in 1976.

That is 42 years ago. There is NO evidence, not even anecdotally that there is any connection to GBS and the flu vaccine.

But they have kids, and something that apparently happens the moment you have kids, is that you immediately become an expert on anything from medicine to education to diet and even world politics, and you also get to pull the "well you aren't a parent so dont tell me" card whenever you want.

I'ts terrible that your wife was the unlucky 1 in 100 000. Hope you both are dealing with it alright.

Personally though, I'd still take the vaccine even if it was 1 in 50 000. To each their own

Actually, maybe not too each their own.  This mindlessly obtuse antivax movement is starting to affect herd immunity across a number of diseases.

Herd immunity is the idea that if enough people get immunized against a disease, they'll create protection for even those who aren't vaccinated. This is important to protect those who can't get vaccinated, like immunocompromised children.

These poor kids are being exposed to pathogens from the anti-vax mob, and their lives are being imperiled needlessly.  And all this born out of the most obstinate and pigheaded ignorance.

I moved to Roodepoort in 1996. One of my first impressions was that the local drivers were very, very aggressive. This for both cars and m/bikes. Fast forward to today and little has changed except the female drivers now match the men.

There seems to be a simple driving rule out here in the wild west: Get out of my way!

I will not ride on roads out here, only on my mtb.
