27.5 or 29er wheel set

I recently brought the Scott Genius 750  2018 with 27.5 plus tyres.

I've been thinking of getting a 29er wheel-set for the bike( even though it fly down the trails with the plus tyres)

I was just wondering if someone has tested both wheel-sets on the bike and what the difference feels like.

Also if its worth buying a new complete wheelset for the bike?

Thanks

29 all the way. Had 27.5+ first on my dual suspension trail bike, and then hardtail. Replaced both with 29" wheelsets. I found the 27.5+ to give vague steering, they are heavy, they accelerate slow, the sidewalls squirm, and they roll slow, and are way too sensitive to pressure changes. 29" with wide tyres (2.4") are just as grippy (if not more so because you can go for a more aggressive tread without the added weight penalty), and do not have the above-mentioned issues.

I was one of the first people to jump on the plus band wagon, but I just don't see the benefits....

Agree with GM,

Go 27.5 or 29. Plus is another fad. Its the industry's way of saying sorry for fatbikes but we still believe in balloon tyres

Hahaha so accurate.

The only place they work I think is on e-bikes where you don't worry about weight so you can put on a plus tyre with a propper DH sidewall. Only place it will truly give you all the advantages promised by plus tyres without feeling like a boat anchor.

Thanks guys. I had 29 on old bike and didn't feel as grippy as the plus but they were really skinny and on a hardtail. Will get 29 x 2,4 for the scott.

If you tend to rail corners ( i.e. go in with A lot of speed and try to keep most of it )

29er will be better , once you lean them over the grip is amazing ( tyre needs to be decent aswell)

650+ felt like it wanted to roll over the whole time ( 2.8 ) and you can't play with pressure too much , cause if its even slightly too hard you'll just be bouncing everywhere
