Well if I read the secret pros assumption and many other articles, he seems to be an ass based on past behaviour . So one can only comment on what is public knowledge..

Also because I am not 5 yrs old I have no heroes..I have athletes I like..some more than others... feel free to call Sagan an ass when abruptly abandons the biggest race when there is nothing physically wrong with because he is unhappy with equipment, equipment he has been using all year, leaving himself and the team look like clowns.

Why aren't they just honest.. why not say this and this lead to these actions.. hell of a lot better than us all just speculating and coming to our own conclusions.

The whole timing of this, the day before the ITT and pulling out during a stage leads me to think this is something that has been building up overtime and something happened yesterday that was the final straw....

1. took advantage of the timing to gain max publicity to make his point

or

2. simply just said...Stuff it!! thats enough of this .... i'm outta here

For sure we are all human..... but we don’t make our living from the racing and when we have a vloermoer event very few people care.... other than to laugh

 

The stakes and agendas are higher for these guys

Pretty sure he is just hoping that the wind doesn't pick him up and chuck him again..He will fight as hard as he can would be quite something if he held on and would like to see if he does keep it how tomorrow will go..

 

If only Julian knew that we need him to keep yellow for longer, cause dammit that may be the only thing that keeps us from scratching our eyes out once Ineos take control and ride a high tempo for the next week.

He lost about 3 minutes to Gee in last years ITT ,which was more hilly than this one... So I wouldn't put any money on him keeping it after today.

 

Again, this has been one of those tours where anything can happen on the day, so it is not impossible.

My two rusty cents: Imagine if I abandoned a lengthy work commitment (a project per se), because I didn't like my keyboard or computer screen.. Lol.
