Shock Cable Reverse

Hi all

I sent my Fox Re:Aktiv shock off my Top Fuel 9.9 to the agents last week to get a service and requested them to change the direction of the cable so it would be from the bottom and not the top to fix the loop-die-loop that it comes standard.

I refitted it last night, put on the cable and then realized it has now converted the shock to a push-to-unlock instead of push to lock which is a bit of a problem as my fork and shock are now opposites...

My question: is it possible to have the cable coming from the bottom with the shock as push-to-lock?

I have attached some pictures of how it comes standard and my converted shock.

And as per the video above, the cable pull direction does not change so I am not sure how you can have a problem now?

I'm just as confused as you are...

Going down to my LBS after work today and hopefully they can try help

I don't understand. Did you send the shock in for a service without the bike as you indicated above? if so, why did you ask the agents to change the direction of the cable if they did not have the bike with them?

Correct, I took the shock off myself and sent it to them.

I asked the agents to change the direction of the cable to run a different cable setup that looks neater.

If you asked them to change the cable pull direction, see if you can mount the cable to pull anti-clockwise. That might fix it.

There's a tab thing stopping it from pulling anti-clockwise...

I have a feeling something was changed by mistake reversing which side was locked out and which side was open. Will post back after I visit my LBS after work today...

As far as I understand - the conversion kit to change the cable entry point is the same kit to change it from push to lock into a push to unlock - so my assumption would be that the job card stated to fit the kit and this was done....

Hoping this isn't the case as that means it's back to the agents and even more down time

Fingers crossed it's just a simple solution...

A visit to the bike shop also left them confused. Looks like it’s somehow been converted to push to unlock as in the firm position on the sticker of the shock, it’s definitely wide open and in the open direction it is locked out.

Emailed the agents and let’s hope it can be resolved.

Sounds like during the service the put someone the wrong way round inside?
