Don’t know much about it.

My ex manager wheels and deals in used cars, someone has offered him this to try and sell. All I have is the pics, no other info.

From Wiki:

"In 1994, Corima expanded to frames, achieving success with the Puma, an aerodynamic carbon monocoque road frame with a steeply sloping top tube, based on the custom track frame ridden by Chris Boardman in 1993. However, production was discontinued in 1999, due to revised UCI rules that rendered the Puma's geometry inconsistent with racing frame guidelines."

So, by all accounts it was a good frame. Probably waaaaay ahead of its' time - exactly the kind of thing the right collector would be looking for. I would guess that with the correct Corima wheels and a Mavic groupset  from that era, it could be quite a desirable item. Corima is of course today mostly known for its high end wheels. The sticker on the Specialized wheel is also from the correct era.

OK, so far the value has been placed somewhere between "not much" and tens of thousands of rand, and you copped some unwarranted abuse along the way.

I hope this helps.

Yup - it has value to a collector/specialist but very little value to Mr. Joe Public.

The wheels won't be compatible with current 11 speed systems, some replacement parts won't be available etc.

It would be an awesome bike to clean up and hang on a wall though!

It's a strange "ish" bike from an era that is probably not as collect-able yet as it is likely to become. In other words too "new" for most collectors. So even the collectors market for it is likely to be be very small.

However it is indeed odd in a way and as you can see that has already sparked some attention.

This is a typical case of "if you can find the right buyer..." and "it is only worth as much as someone would be willing to pay for it...", but very little reference particularly in SA to guess how much it could or should be worth.

I must say though, if I was a tri - athlete that is not super competitive and who wants to stand out from the crowd with a nice classic tri bike, I would give this a serious look. It is also likely to perform way better than some may think :-)

Come to think about it, If you do establish some sort of a price I would also be interested ;-)

Cool and unique bike - albeit it not the prettiest in my books... (would be fun to hand to Bogus though and turn some heads at an Ironman but that might just be me). The value though as a warning is usually in things being original spec and condition.

Find the right buyer you could be looking at anything up to R30k (especially overseas)... the odds on that aren't great though. And a lot would depend on pedigree, history, original spec, condition etc.
I'm sure you could get anything from R6k-R13k here on the hub though.

If you want to sell this and you find little interest locally, I would sell it internationally on EBay.

Changing the stem (and removing the TT bars) would instantly transform the bike into a much better looking bike

I hope i am not treading on eggshells here but anyone can make a sticker. That bike is not worth much. Sorry friend.

The sticker is on the wheels.Spencer Smith was 1993 and 1994 World Champ and rode Specialized bikes and wheels at the time.Has nothing to do with this bikes history.
