And you guys are choosing to miss his main point, which is that most of the people are volunteers...

They are clearly as a whole not achieving their mandate, so they need other volunteers to replace them or combine with them to improve the situation.

But where are those volunteers?

Is this one of those "unless you volunteer you cant have a voice" posts?

No, are not CHOOSING to miss the point. They are trying to see the bigger picture.

I am however not going to distill a each point down to argument.

They are clearly as a whole not achieving their mandate doing their job efficiently, so they need other volunteers to replace them or combine with them to improve the situation.

I am a personally aware of several people who have volunteered to help, including myself. These offers were ignored by CSA.

Gerald has posted similar stories about wanting to help and simply never getting responses. I am sure there are more like that. Even Booth went to go try and help.

How can we collectively hurt CSA.  Damn, if 50 odd agitated employees can bring a mining operation of a multi-national mining giant to a standstill that employs 4500 people (yes, this is happening where I work right now), surely there has to be a way that 35000 cyclists can make a handful of execs at CSA feel some pain on the basis of our unhappiness.

I've probably paid CSA in excess of R5k over the past decade in the form of day license fees and assuming that BelieveRider's account of the situation is factual, I'm regretting every cent that I've paid them to date.

would appreciate if someone in a position of authority in these spheres can give us insight as to how to hurt this useless organization financially.  If you take the ~50k people that ride the 94.7 and CTCT every year (@R35 / day license = R1.75 Million), can't we get those big event organizers on board to force these guys into action and to retract the fines for the CHOC race? (and every other race where CSA is not providing their mandated "sactioning" services)

Misinterpret, I think not!!

You seem very keen to contradict and also very keen to offer others to do their work!!

Obviously your interpretation of what an EXCO and MANCO are meant to be doing which is different to many... have you in fact read the constitution?

Whilst you broad sweep what this EXCO do, perhaps you may want to highlight in more detail exactly and explain where it is beneath them to fix their failings?

Seems you believe they are meeting expectation and doing a good job.... if that is the case, why do you think there is so much bickering on their failings and the continued loss of membership and that many cyclist want nothing to do with them?

again you misinterpret and apply your misinterpretation as fact.

I have never made my position wrt to current clear so don;'t offer one for me.

I don't believe the current CSA EXCO is capable of fixing the problems they have created. They will not suddenly become competent.

the solution is to put new people in the EXCO who do have the necessary skills, passion and time to effectively carry out the mandate as laid out in the constitution.

I also do not believe that bitching on BikeHub will solve the problems.

The bigger problem is the cyclists who vote an EXCO in....

You're confusing issues.

You can;t toi toi for better governance and then toi toi for scrapping fines that are a result of good (if distasteful ) governance on this particular matter. there needs to be consistency. Can't make it up as we go along and decide what we like and don't like.

The only fact I have stated is that if anyone bitches, then you suggest they volunteer.... yet, you do not volunteer yourself !!

Glad we are of the same understanding with the CSA EXCO and MANCO and will be interested to see how you feel new people will be put in place when the current EXCO ignore offers from new volunteers and when the existing EXCO found to be fraudulent and mismanaging, tried to cover it up by saying they would investigate and then re-appointed themselves in an almost closed shop AGM that lasted all of less than 30mins?

I agree with you that one of the problems is those that vote the EXCO on... but the bigger problem is the majority of cyclist lack of knowledge of the failings of CSA to which highlighting (or bitching in your words) this does on such a thread.

Yes, we must 'fire' all the volunteers...

As pointed out, there is nobody else putting their hands up to help. Hence the disastrous situation.

See post earlier by Patch and posts on other CSA thread by Frosty where hands have been put up and ignored by CSA.... your argument does not hold water.
