I'm calling Theo for a top 20. Or a crash. Nothing in between.

He was SERIOUSLY on pace in Les Gets before he had his enormous moment.

lots of work to do to confirm your convictions:

Theo qualified in P61

So only him and Sabine Thies in the jnr ladies, repping ZA.

Any details on Minnaar's DSQ? Will he race?

still says he qualifies. Both him and Greenland, who was DNF.

From PB

**Greg Minnaar was sitting in 7th at +6.672 but has been DSQed after going wide on a corner shortly after the Stevie Smith Drop, breaking through the tape and not rejoining where he left it. He is a protected rider so will still be able to compete for the rainbow stripes on Sunday. “

Must say..I thought Tahnee would be closer to the race pace then she is.. But maybe she took it easy because she's not protected... But then... Neither was Myriam

Remember that at World Champs "qualifying" is actually nothing ... There are generally less than the requisite 80 riders in Elite who are chosen by their federations to race. .. so in most instances .. if you just get down clean you will qualify. It's like a timed training basically.

he's a protected rider so bar injury he will race

Good news. What are the protection rules for World Champs? So I don't ask the same question next year ????

It's a new ruling for 2019. I will look it up.

For all DHI events (Men Elite, Women Elite, Men Juniors and Women Juniors), riders

are required to ride in the qualifying round. The number of riders qualifying for the final

are as follows:

- Men Elite: top 80 riders in the qualifying round

- Women Elite: top 40 riders in the qualifying round

- Men Juniors: top 60 riders in the qualifying round

- Women Juniors: top 15 riders in the qualifying round

For the final in the Men Elite and Women Elite, the “protected riders” are:

- Riders ranked in the top 10 Women Elite and the top 20 Men Elite of the final

world cup standings of the current season.

In case the UCI mountain bike world cup final is held after the UCI mountain bike world

championships, riders ranked in the top 10 Women Elite and the 20 Men Elite of the

latest world cup standings of the current season

Thanks!

For some reason I assumed World Cup performances had no bearing on Champs but this makes sense.
