DieselnDust Posted January 30, 2019 Share They are competing both days. Both days are UCi registered events as well as part of the National Series.Ya I see that from the events schedule. I understood from the Facebook posts the Saturday was the provincial and the Sunday the national and only the national counts for UCI points. I figured they racing the provincial for course practice. So now I'm royally confused

Robbie Stewart Posted January 30, 2019 Share I am guessing the UCI crew are going to give all us locals an education of how that trail is meant to be ridden. As for Sam Gaze, I expect him to educate us in the finer details of having a tantrum... samson99 and JohanDiv

samson99 Posted January 30, 2019 Share and one final question: how does the tech and feed zone work for us normal peeps?Ā I don't think i will be using the feed zone. Will just take 2 bottles.Ā Thoughts?
Donovan Le Cok Posted January 30, 2019 Share and one final question: how does the tech and feed zone work for us normal peeps?Ā I don't think i will be using the feed zone. Will just take 2 bottles.Ā Thoughts?Ā Two bottles on your bike will be fine. Otherwise, take a friend to second for you if you want to take it a bit more seriously.Ā If you have a mechanicalĀ or puncture, you can only get outside assistance in the tech/feed zone.Ā samson99
Karl Beaton Posted January 30, 2019 Share thanks, I think the explanation cold benefit everyone, unless there's politics in the back ground.....?ZERO politicsĀ - i just hate typing and better with my mouthĀ Ā ... Saturday is SA XCO Cup series 1 and WC XCO series 1 within the same race and Sunday SA XCO Cup Series 2 ( only Elite and Junior) and no WC XCO series - what this means in SA is that the Elite and Junior have six SA cup races in 2019 and other categories have four SA cup races - depending on your category you can drop one race for the points log.Ā Ā Ā Ā Ā From FaceBook page and edited:Ā Ā The National Series offers all-important Category 1 UCI points and forms part of the UCI Junior World Series. Local and international competitors alike will be looking to garner points to boost their rankings early in the season.Ā Western Cape riders will enjoy a competitive start to the year with top racers, both local and international.Ā Sunday 3 February: A second day of racing has been lined up for Junior and Elite Riders. This day forms part of the SA Cup Series and is an opportunity for individual riders to up their UCI points.Ā SA riders ( Elite and Jun)to race on Sunday as the points that they earn will contribute to raise the standing of TEAM SA. TEAM SA needs these points in order to be a qualify to send a team to take part in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. samson99 Posted January 30, 2019 Share I'll be around if you'd like someone to pass you a bottle during the race. Thanks Nick.Ā Appreciate it. But think i will stick to 2 bottles as I will probably cause an accident trying to grab a bottle.Ā Nick
Jewbacca Posted January 30, 2019 Share I'm bummed to miss this. A funeral of a close family friend got in the way of me lying in a pool of vomit and hurt on Saturday.Ā The course look pristine, jumps, drops and some really fast sections.Ā (Shakes fist at the world!) samson99 Posted January 30, 2019 Share Sorry to hear Jewbacca.Ā Speaking of jumps - am i the only one who doesn't take the two gap jumps? The remaining jumps i seem ok with but those 2 gap jumps still need practice DavejohnClaassens and Jewbacca
