Does anyone have any experience with this product? Good or not?

Has anyone tried it on a Scott with the weird shaped top cap / spacer thing they have going on?

Does any beer cap work?

I have one. Can confirm it works with any bottle top, and does exactly what it says on the box.

It'll fit on the Syncros stem, just won't look as neat as the proprietary topcap.

Doubt it will work with the Scott stem (and its strange cap)

You might want to get another stem to go this route ....

OR

Get the SCOTT water bottle holder and tool kit -

The chain breaker has a space to hold your quick link

OR

Get the WOLF quick ling tool from EvoBikes -

post-110956-0-19778400-1555000898_thumb.jpg

It is used to remove a quick link, AND it is a tire lever, AND it has space to hold TWO sets of quick links (handy when your riding partner has a smaller bike with a different chain)

(actually used this WOLF tool on Saturday on a funride to help a kid that had trouble with his bike)

I am just a "bit" toooooo OCD to stare at that gaping hole where the Syncros cap extends, if another round cap was used ....

You literally picked the first day in weeks that there hasn't been a Spark in the shop...

So here is the Syncros stem, with its own top-cap, as well as a standard top-cap :

The Syncros top-cap does a nice wrap-around :

The standard cap looks, .. uhm well, "standard" :

So it does not look any worse than a standard setup with the standard cap .... enough other places to carry that quick link, personally I wont do that on my bike ..... :whistling:

but then again, I am using a riser stem ...   and instead of a standard cap I use a Garmin mount ....

Does it fit 12spd links?

Length is the same, just the studs that are marginally shorter ...

My 12-speed links fit in the same holders that fit the 6, 7, 8 and 10 links that I have .... hazards of riding with kid growing through the bike sizes ... think I have more spares than many bike shops ...

The photo in Post 3 shows a 12 speed link and a 7 speed link in the Wolf Tooth holders.

Yeah, but 12spd links are curved more than 11spd ones. Eg: 11 speed links fit in the Specialized top cap chain tool, 12 speed does not.

But to answer the question - 12 speed links do fit in the Lyne top cap.

Thanks for sharing the pics, that really doesn't look bad!

Some mysterious force is pulling me to the idea of having a beer cap in-front of me... like a carrot on a stick

thanks, yep my spez cup is pretty useless for storing 12spd links, only keep it as a chain breaker now

Looking for a SA flag cap for Maritz's bike ...

I just use a bit of insulation tape, and wrap it around the actual chain tool to keep the tool from rattling (it always did without the tape), and then on the second round with the insulation tape - tape the links on there too. Works nicely.

Having a Scott Kraaines and worrying about how a different top cap will look sounds contradictory.

But then again, Een man se lelik is 'n ander man se vrou.

I can confirm that the Lyne cap works lekker. So lekker that I have it on both my bikes. It is shaped somehow that the links don't rattle in there, so some thought went it.

Worst case scenario, you can always just tape the two links to one of the millions of cables running in front of your handlebar.
