T-Bob Posted April 30, 2019 Share To be honest, having had my Ripmo for a bit now I'd say this looks like a perfect SA bike. I like the Ripmo and don't get me wrong it's hella good at what it does but having come off a Evil Following it seems like a using a bomb to crush a walnut. I've had a 'few' bikes in the last 24 / 48 months and out off all those the shortish travel 29'rs with good suspension design and killer geo are the ones that have shone. The Evil and the Smuggler being the top trumps for most of that Cape Town has to offer on a regular basis. This new Ripley might just just be another fantastic option for here and 110% drool worthy. Just don't look at the $$$. JKW was smashing it in that video on his 'light trail bike'. Edited April 30, 2019 by T-Bob Duane_Bosch

lock Posted May 2, 2019 Share Agree T-Bob, other than how expensive the bike will be I think it’s a great fit for SA riding conditions. Short stem and burly tires for the trail/enduro days and longer stem and lighter tires for long marathon/stage races. thebob Posted May 2, 2019 Share Had a look at the geometry numbers. 2 degrees on the seat tube, 3cm on the seat tube and 8mm on the reach separate this bike from the Trance 29. Would love to ride them back to back

The DW suspension setup is very nice so think the ripley will climb a tad better, my V3 LS also loves to pop off anything (my skills are terible so can imagine a properly skilled rider will do much better) and apparently the V4 takes that to a different level. Very playful bike.
KERMIT THE UBOAT Posted September 9, 2020 Share will she be the one? time will tell. chuffed with how the build came out. My Ibis Ripley V4 opted for slightly burlier build with fox36 set to 140. Dirt Tracker Posted September 9, 2020 Share I never liked the older style of Ibis bikes but these new ones are looking amazing. We'll need a full review shortly. Edited September 9, 2020 by Dirt Tracker
