I ran a oval blade and short cranks. I find it the perfect combo for me. I am not a light guy but this helps me keep the power up and makes spinning easier for me.

no secondary harmonics affecting the rear suspension performance under pedaling

no strange power readings with a round ring

No and

No.

With Oval I can ride up to 27% and round I am walking at 19%

Not a fan I gather? I also heard at the LBS a few clients asked to go back to round chainrings so I guess it's not for everybody

Was a fan then wasn't then was now am not. Have enough of my own data to realise it doesn't work for me. Not magic power gains or improved climbing ability.

What did improve my climbing was getting my power to weight up. What the oval did do was slow my cadence and that felt more powerful but I do the same with a round ring without the associated challenges of oval rings.

Also everytime I switched back to a round ring I went faster because my cadence was higher and therefore power

I'm a convert and will never go back to round rings. After riding an oval for a while, I rode a bike with a round ring and the pedaling felt very "lumpy" and during sprints, the power stroke had a very apparent dead-spot.

Oval for the win.

I have a set of 50-34 (5 x 110BCD) oval chainrings for sale , I changed because DI2 did not like the shifting, still running Oval on my MTB.

According to Garmin vector pedals, my PEAK POWER changed from 70-121 degrees with round chain rings vs 59 - 113 Oval chain rings.

not much more on average power readings.
