Don't know if anyone has noticed, but your current internal cable routing won't work - the brakes come out by the steerer, so new holes must be drilled on the bottom of the downtube, and the current ones closed off. Otherwise it will be very messy.

Other issues - cutting bar length down, not possible. Getting brake lever position right - possible issue.

I'm sure all these issues will be sorted by V2 or V3 of this product, but my biggest concern with all of this is that bikes are becoming increasinly complex which just adds to the cost of the sport. Mechanics will soon have to be certified to work on every part if your bike (as with suspension) - it just makes life difficult. I love the idea of this tech, but when I think of the practical implications I am not so excited about it. Besides for the cost factor, I think for the time being I still prefer cable actuated droppers and gears, and exposed cables. It just makes my bike a bit easier to work on, which to me just makes sense.

And add to that the general difficulty that proprietary anything adds to your life, this just isn't for me.

Very cool tech none-the-less.

Watch out for trickstuffs version. Will be alot more user friendly.

My concern with this is when you happen to snap the end of a bar clipping a tree or in a crash. Then you can kiss the bladder good bye as well.

Might be a massive wait for anything from trickstuff - been waiting for brakes ordered October 2018 and just received a mail from the owner saying for reasons unknown they are having quality issues and are not sending out product - been receiving a mail like this every couple of months.

Must be costing them a fortune - I have some of their piccolo brakes and love them

Only thing wrong in that video, they keep using the word "Easy"

Probably because the guys making the video did not do the cable routing themselves.

On some frames the routing takes longer than the entire build.

Sorry to hear man. But I think their stuff is hand made on order basis or something like that. So at least you know they are addressing issues instead of sending out mass produced goods that are/ could be faulty.

I won't be going near this type of set up ever. there are easier more practical solutions like in moulded brake hoses in the frame itself and couplings provided externally - just hook up the parts and bleed.

Servicability seems to take a back seat these days. Why have internal cable routing when the down tube needs a protective cover anyway? Why not just cover the cables and brake hos with the removable protective cover?
