Muizenberg has really turned itself around beautifully.

The whole corner is so cool now. It's somehow managed to keep that slightly weird vibe but has stepped into the 21st century.

JA all the complaining we all do is really silly and these pics remind me of that - I ride chappies at least once a week and often in both directions and to race it in the CTCT is a lekker experience - I'm looking forward to it --- a lovely 3 months of racing now culminating in the Swartberg Granfondo.

Well when I say racing I am using the term in it's full mamilian sense of riding at a moderate pace with other people and having a good time.

Love this race.

How does suikerbossie en chappies compare to Hekpoort Pass (from the northern side) and / or Klapperkop in PTA?

You going to need to give a strava segment or distance and gradient Suikers is around 2km at 6% starting at sea level

Al I can find about Klapperkop is this:"

Klapperkop – Climb breakdown:

  • Maximum Gradient: 7,5%
  • Average gradient: 3%
  • Climb length: 3,7km
  • Surface: Tar surface throughout the climb
  • Surface quality: 8/10 Perfectly smooth tar, a couple of potholes at the foot of the climb
  • Lighting: No lighting installed on climb
  • Best time to train: First light of day up to 5 pm
  • Overall rating: 8/10

The Strava Segmnent is named  :  Klapperkop Cattle Grid right up to Radio Tower
