JA all the complaining we all do is really silly and these pics remind me of that - I ride chappies at least once a week and often in both directions and to race it in the CTCT is a lekker experience - I'm looking forward to it --- a lovely 3 months of racing now culminating in the Swartberg Granfondo.

 

Well when I say racing I am using the term in it's full mamilian sense of riding at a moderate pace with other people and having a good time.

 

 

Love this race.

How does suikerbossie en chappies compare to Hekpoort Pass (from the northern side) and / or Klapperkop in PTA?

You going to need to give a strava segment or distance and gradient Suikers is around 2km at 6% starting at sea level

Al I can find about Klapperkop is this:"

 

Klapperkop – Climb breakdown:

  • Maximum Gradient: 7,5%
  • Average gradient: 3%
  • Climb length: 3,7km
  • Surface: Tar surface throughout the climb
  • Surface quality: 8/10 Perfectly smooth tar, a couple of potholes at the foot of the climb
  • Lighting: No lighting installed on climb
  • Best time to train: First light of day up to 5 pm
  • Overall rating: 8/10

 

The Strava Segmnent is named  :  Klapperkop Cattle Grid right up to Radio Tower
