Hi guys, I hope this is the right section for this post.

I just took delivery of a Wahoo Kicker Core. I was hoping to use my Garmin HRM to pair with the Zwift Android app on my Galaxy S9+. I managed to do this successfully with Trainerroad but cant seem to get my ANT+ Garmin HRM to pair with Zwift. Has anybody else encountered this and is there a work around?

Unfortunately the Zwift android app doesn't support ANT+ yet. The app has many other issues, so not sure how high a priority it is for them.

There are workarounds, in that there are devices that can connect to the ANT+ one and rebroadcast over Bluetooth. But then you could rather just buy a cheap HR strap that supports both protocols

Edit: or, buy the 4iiii HR strap, which is more expensive, but can also rebroadcast other ant+ devices over Bluetooth, in case you have the same problem with a cadence sensor for example

I have a Stages powermeter which also doubles as a cadence sensor, I know the PM transmits ANT+ and bluetooth, unfortunately the powermeter battery decided to die tonight so I'll have to replace the battery to check if the PM pairs with the Zwift android app.

If I cannot get the PM to pair via bluetooth, will the 4iiii HRM be able to act as a link between the android app and the PM?

I think the Stages should work just fine via Bluetooth, for both power/cadence.

My P1 pedals do - I just can't use them for power when using the trainer as the controllable, so if you get "No signal" from the trainer or PM (depending on which pairs first), try selecting the Kickr as both power and controllable.

Thanks HdB, I'll give it a shot tonight.

Just a thought, is it at possible to pair Garmin head unit (520 in my case) with the Zwift android app? Effectively using the Garmin head unit as a link between the ANT+ sensors and then pair with Zwift via bluetooth?

I don't have a Garmin head unit, so I can't say for sure, but to my knowledge the head units don't have the option act as a bridge to rebroadcast over Bluetooth

I do not know much about Zwift, I installed the free 7 day trial on Friday last week and did a ramp test on Sunday. To be perfectly honest I found the interface very "game orientated" and I was not too impressed. I then proceeded to un-install it and continue on the Sufferfest platform.

Now before all the Zwift fans take out their pitch-forks there's a point to this rambling:

After my fantastic experience with the platform I made contact with one of my "Zwift-Evangelist" friends and told her what I thought about the app.

She then told me: You should use the App through Watopia instead of using it directly. Now by that time I've already un-installed the app and had no intention of downloading it again but it may work for you, Watopia may be like an interface between all the gadgets and Zwift to ensure everything syncs up . (P.S: I used Zwift on a Laptop so everything worked fine on their for me)

Someone somewhere has been bamboozled.

Watopia is a location inside Zwift, like London or New York. It isn't a gadget or App. Well not to my knowledge and to the knowledge of a quick Google search.

If you or your friend has other information that I missed please do share a link.

EDIT: I think HdB figured it out below, your friend probably meant the Zwift Companion App. It can only add Bluetooth sensors though, to the best of my knowledge. Doesn't work with ANT+

Probably the Companion app. To be honest, I mostly use it to enter events or currently check on my training plan. But I run Zwift on my tablet, on a stand within easy reach - when running it on a PC or laptop, the app might be of more use.

It does allow you to connect Bluetooth sensors to the game, if for example you have a Bluetooth-only HRM and your PC doesn't have Bluetooth).

Whahahahaha, Ask me anything about Sufferfest and I can sound fairly intelligent but "voer my 'n poep" and tell me there's Unicorns on Zwift then I'll believe it  :D

unicorns = no

bears and bigfoot = yes

No idea about the S20 but I'm running it on my S10 and it has ANT+. Works well but the cellphone screen is a bit small. Would definitely prefer a bigger screen (I often cast the screen to my TV but the resolution when doing that is not great).

Thread revival...I am due for a cellphone upgrade. Does the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE have Ant+? Anyone used it on Zwift?

According to GSM arena, the s20 FE doesn't have ANT+, unfotunately.

It does list it under the S10, so I think the data is reliable.

Side by side comparison

S10 on the left, S20 FE on the right

Thanks for the reply. It looks like the S20 FE does not have Ant+
