Apparently a typical 'Just Riding Along' incident. Seeing as the guy who was riding it works at the LBS I am inclined to believe it too.

I've been using a Carbon Easton 70 Seatpost for YEARS already, plenty of falls and so forth, no problems. Must've been a Dud imho or the guy had a FAT ASS eg. plus 80kg.Evil%20Smile

thats why i only use a alu seat post on mtb!!!!!!! and just riding along accidents are normally witnessed as to being a hectic drop off and or a decent pice of single track involving a tree

snapped my CAmpag Record carbon post a year ago on the Colnago. Had definately been overtightened and I hit the infamous railway lines at the Tour de Stellenbosch pretty hard. Used for 5years plus and way over 80kg for most of the time.

 

Have a CF post now and no problems.

I've seen LBS overtighten carbon seatposts were the seatposts survive but the frames crack.Dead Like Oom H always say, you can even brake your pinkey if you stick deep enough into you a$$hole and turn it just wrongWink
