SpecialK Posted October 8, 2019 Share I took a bit of tumble off the bike on Sunday (or more a full face plant OTB, thank goodness for a full face helmet). I initially thought I walked away with just a few bruises and a sprained thumb, but a trip to the emergency room yesterday confirmed it was a torn ligament. Any recommendations for a hand specialist in the Cape Town area? Preferably looking for someone operating outs of Constantiaberg, CT Mediclinic or Milnerton Medi... Nakoota Posted October 8, 2019 Share If you don't win with a CT reference, call Dr Roger Nicholson's rooms in JHB and ask them for a CT reference. https://sassh.co.za/roger-nicholson RocknRolla
MORNE Posted October 8, 2019 Share Dr Martin Wells, mediclinic panorama. He’s not cheap though
PhilipV Posted October 8, 2019 Share +1 for Dr Wells. He fixed my hand after I rearranged my wrist violently, But a torn ligament hardly seems to warrant going to a hand specialist? Your local orthopod can probably handle it.

DJR Posted October 8, 2019 Share Also at Vincent Pallotti, Dr Michael Solomons. The Cape hand Clinic is world class. Hands are tricky things and worth getting the best guy and team (physio etc.) to sort out. (Ask me, I've been there and done that more than once and my livelihood depends 100% on it.) https://handdoc.co.za/about/ Goosebay and SpecialK
Goosebay Posted October 8, 2019 Share I used Steve Carter at Vincent Palotti. Very happy. http://www.capetownhandsurgery.co.za/Or Dr Mike Solomons at the same clinic - was recommended to me. I had a partial tear of the ulnar collateral ligament - a real pest as it needs a rigid splint for 6 to 8 weeks. If you have a rupture (complete tear) then surgery asap SpecialK and DJR
