Also, is there an app for Garmin which allows you to create a route on your mobile and then have it display on your watch? I've only ever been able to use pre loaded/existing maps which you search and find on desktop Sorry for the threadjack

Dusty Posted October 17, 2019 Posted October 17, 2019 We used it on the Silk Road Mountain Race this year as a backup to our Garmins. It was part of the race package. You can download the maps to use offline so not cell phone reception relient, which was a big plus when we wanted to reroute in the middle of nowhere. It used about 60% of my phone's battery life in 12 hrs of riding, so not too bad from that respect. I am not an IT fundi at all, and even I found it very user friendly.
