ChrisF Posted May 9, 2020 Share America has been driving up prices in NZ for years. I remember when I first went to Raglan the amount of boomer Californians buying into the area was massive. Wanaka and Lake Hawea are the hotspots for Tech millionaires, most of the farms around there are owned by Silicon Valley mobs. Mark Z has a farm there as does Bezos, the twitter guys, Linkedin founders, Paypal guys, Netscape Founders etc. Perfect prepper doomsday location as it's just been proven. Here is the article - https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8235565/Billionaires-fled-doomsday-bunkers-New-Zealand-coronavirus-crisis-escalated.html HOPE one of those last planes did not bring the virus with it .... some more info on the super wealthy ... https://www.bloomberg.com/features/2018-rich-new-zealand-doomsday-preppers/ T-Bob

If you've got a decent rural block of land then you're pretty isolated as it is! Couple of my mates in that Hawea / Arrow town / Wanaka / Cardrona area and up top of north island have barely registered that anything is going on in the outside world as it is! Dirt Tracker Posted May 9, 2020 Share Hopefully they are still in business in a few months ....You’d have to check any refund policy pretty well. There are some deals on there and some valid to December. The R19k to R3k Kruger one looks the winner but it’s a gamble if we’ll be moving by end August. Chris_ Posted May 18, 2020 Share https://www.quicket.co.za/events/103719-witsieshoek-mountain-lodge-relief-fund/#/ Anyone whos been to Witsieshoek would probably have received this mail already. Anyone who hasn't been should give it a look. Far from luxury, but easily one of the most stunning landscapes in the country. Its a great little spot. You pay a 'donation' now and receive a voucher worth more than you gave to be redeemed any time within 2 years I think it is.
