You can Chat to Wayne from Rapide, he will give you some good advice, but check-out Bike-addict has some SLX kits at a good price but you have to use a Clutch derailer and a Narrow wire Chain-ring is a plus, Don't try and go without a Clutch or Chain guide, a friend paid dearly when his chain came off.

Hi,is there anyone that I can chat to about upgrading my bicycle from a 3x9 to a 1x10or11, can someone assist me

Evobikes has everything you need, which may be as little as:

New front ring, to bolt onto your current crank set ...

Cassette of your choice ... would recommend an 11 speed, full range for minimal cost

New derailure and trigger

About a 1 hour job

With a conventional shimano mtb freehub you should be able to use a Sunrace 12 speed cassette and a Shimano deore upgrade kit. Buy the full upgrade kit, smash the chain and cassette on classifieds and grab a kmc chain and sunrace cassette. Voila.

Other option is to buy a hub and have someone do the swap for you, but it will cost a few randelas more.

At the moment the Shimano 12 speed kits are cheaper than most 1x11 upgrade kits with rear derailleurs as cheap as R1200.
I recently had to replace my gx rear mech in a pinch and bought the slx one for R1399 as I couldn't wait for delivery from Bike Addict, funny thing is it works with the Sram shifter, chain and cassette, no problems, smoother even...

Don’t forget a chain, and if you coming from 3x you will most likely need shorter chainring bolts
