I also stuggle to get tires on wider rims. Accidentally discovered that if you leave the tire in the sun for a while it pops on quite easily. Also sets way quicker when inflating

My concern is getting a flat while on the road.

Yeah I'm sure the bead will stretch a bit after some time but don't want to be stranded as I ride alone most of the time.

The 1 from Evobikes doesn't have too many great reviews online.

Will just have to order from Amazon.

I know I'll get a lot of naysayers for this..

But, if you do it right you can fit a tyre with only your hands. Learn to stack the beads in the centre of the rim while fitting and you'll have all the space you need.

That tyre jack is dangerous.

Your advice is spot on ... but some tyres remain a challenge and the jack together with what you've said makes the job just a little easier.

To the OP, I have the one from Evo and it works well enough in conjunction with the advice from 100Tours.

Find someone with an offroad motorbike, do a tyre change for them on the motorbike, you will never struggle with a bicycle tyre ever again. Better so if they have Mousses, you will realise it is easy to change any bicycle tyre.

Why you say so ?

I tried everything, it still took a very long time and was never going to go on without levers.

Being a wider rim, the bead naturally positioned itself in the centre on the rim, but there will still like 10cm of the tyre that would not go over.

After searching the webs yesterday, there's loads of guys who have difficulty with the corsa's on wide rims.

I have thumbs like a rogue bear from tyre fitment and wheel building, and even I am sometimes forced to admit defeat. There are some tyre and rim combos that need a lever.

Using force instead of good technique will wreck tape, tyre beads or rims, but sometimes you need technique and force.

I've always wiped sunlight liquid over the bead of the tire and used the "crow bar" type of tire levers. Works most of the time.
