Mampara, the point with Amla is that he does stand upfor what he believes, and you gotta respect that.

What gets my goat is when ppl pass judgement on others for what they believe.

Well if you are Jewish Sunday is actually Saturday and if you're Muslim it's Friday and if you are catholic it is every day.  If you are Protestant you feel you should have Sunday on Sunday, but you feel guilty about it all week anyway!

I don't know which year it is for the Jews but this year they've got 13 months.

If you look at international cricket scene; then you may find that the Pakistani team has 2 play when it is during the fasting month! Because it is their profession, from a Islamic/Muslim perspective they are allowed to consume water during the match; however they still have to observe the fasting day when they can!

I do see this topic about how religion/faith is with us, regardless of cycling. Each person's "road map" has been put out .. good or bad .. some ppl feel GOD deserting them if things are not going their way andremember ... the closer (more religious) you get to GOD; the more your FAITH will be tested as to how religious you are...

Same goes with Amla ... I do believe that he will not play with company slogans/logo that is contrary to his believes; for example Beer Names; etc... If the sponsors allow the contract like that then I do not forsee and issue .. just bear in mind that you can not have an entire team having his/her own way to the sponsors ...

Another thing is. When you believe and it goes well, you are blessed. When it goes bad you are being tested. When you don't believe and it goes bad, it's because you do not believe. When it goes well they say "the devil also looks after his children".

What what now?
