Thug Posted July 4, 2008 Share Did he only give you a middle finger ? If that was me I'd have shown you both. I'd expect something like that from you. But even the thug wears a helmet. not to cast doubt on thug's parentage' date=' but i hope that's one middle finger on each hands, not two middle fingers on each?[/quote'] Cervelo, there might not be too much brain matter left up there but I still value what little I have left. The problem as I see it is, if someone is comfortable and wants to ride without a helmet, who are you to try and impose your standards on that person. If he/she doesn't value their life, as long as it's not impacting on you, leave well enough alone. HR, yes. Although I've tried exceptionally hard, I still haven't managed to trace any Vulcan lineage

KevinV Posted July 4, 2008 Share The saying goes "If you gonna be thick then you better be tough". Let them ride without helmets, they are only making our gene pool muddy.
jabbathemutt007 Posted July 4, 2008 Share Anyway I thought "Rider without helmet" was a circumcised rider.

jmaccelari Posted July 4, 2008 Share We've got a tosser in the Emmarentia area who rides a Bianchi with Bianchi-like Vespa kit. He _never_ wears a helmet. Maybe a beanie... I say leave 'em be since Darwinian selection will apply... He's stupid now and he's only going to be stupider. My helmet has saved my noggin several times - not that my mates would always agree. Also (like on of the guys I ride with said regarding people who don't have lights) how will his companions feel having to scrape him off the road 'cos he was stupid... Selfish sods. barrykm Posted July 4, 2008 Share Cervelo did the right thing. He may have got the finger' date=' but I bet the idiot got home still thinking about it, and probably the next training session he wore his helmet, because Cervelo made him think about it. [/quote'] Good point! Whilst I accept that it's all about individual choice etc etc, I see nothing wrong those of us who believe in this aspect of safety querying the lack of a helmet with our fellow cyclists - if the response of a variety of fingers being waved, then so be it, move on. Eldron Posted July 4, 2008 Share If what you do affects me - talking on the cellphone whilst driving, drunk driving, bad driving etc then I have a problem with it...No helmet, no safety belt is more suicide than murder so whatever - I'm a darwinist. And no - I would never try and make OB wear a helmet - that's more dangerous than crashing without one....
