Put it for sale in the classifieds. * Like New * * Hardly Used *

:)

Or not - I made the mistake of buying a "like new" chain and it was slipping like mad. I know that the comment was said jokingly - but js want to make sure OP doesn't actually put it up for sale 🙃

The first test is - are your gears skipping, or are the shifts not as crisp as you've become used to?

If yes, the chain has had it. 0.75 is enough to justify a new chain. You had get 11spd chains at really good prices these days. Give Decathlon a try, it may sound dodgy, but don't slam it before you've tried it.

The SRAM 1110 is roughly 300 bucks or less and is brilliant.

One needn't shop around or be sly.

I'm on my second one, first one I bought slightly used and it lasted me 3800km, this one is on 2500km and still doing well.

They are cheap enough to replace often.

Is this chain 1x specific.?

Or are you guys using it on 2x too.?

using it on 2x11

Ok. I see Sram advertises it as a 1x chain and I wondered how it would perform on 2x setup.

works perfectly on my 2x Shimano drivetrain. I do however find that is not lubed very regularly it becomes noisy quickly.

Quick answer? No.

But, get hold of a chain ASAP. Also, inspect the condition of your cassette too. I don't buy the "replace the chain along with the cassette" BS. I've never done that before, and shifting has never been an issue.

The cassette will outlast your chain, perhaps 3 chains. THAT SAID - it depends on how clean you keep your stuff. Haven't cleaned either thoroughly in some time? Eish.

Post photos of your cassette.

I think that 1x is more damaging/more demanding for chains than 2x. i.e. 1x requires a wider range of out-of-line movement.

I used to run Campagnolo chains on everything, and they were brilliant.

But they're expensive, so I have recently experimented with KMC. This was a mistake, they have worn out at very low mileage.

I'm hoping for better results on the 1110 SRAMs. I haven't used SRAM chains sine I ran 9s groupsets, but they seem to be a good cost/durability balance.

New posts on this thread prompted me to check my chain ... and yes, appears it needs replacing. ☹️

Sram PC1110 @ under R300 is hard to ignore.

Road bike 2x 11 spd.? 🤷‍♂️
