Apart from sending it back to the agents in PE (which is a 7 day turn around excursion by courier on its own), where can we send an X Fusion Manic dropper to be serviced? All the local shops want to send it back to RBCO for a service and its about a 2 week return time which we are trying to avoid

It works great, but the seat post has about +-2mm twist from the centre line (in basic lingo, if you look from the top, the seat twists from left to right by about 2mm either side of the centre line)

- The seat is securely fastened to the clamps, so its not the seat moving on the post

Any ideas where we can get it looked at in Joeys?

Cogent would be your best bet I reckon.

That amount of sideways play sounds about normal though, so I wouldn't be too worried about it.

Agreed on the amount of play.

My OneUp has about the same and previous KS posts also had that much play.

Service when it gets sticky or sluggish.

Agree, the amount of play seems normal.

Basic maintenance - keep it clean & periodically unscrew the top part (with the logo printed on) and regrease it using a high quality grease like RS butter. Refrain from using general purpose grease. Too sticky

Full service- when it gets sticky, for a DIY checkout the multitude of Youtube videos. Very basic stuff.

Where do you live that couriers take that long? Oh wait, Gauteng. That's weird.

Turn around time for stuff sent to RBC has always been a week from Somerset West.

I used to have an X fusion Manic, and it also developed some play over time, but that 2mm sounds fine. A service won't be amiss. But there is no reason why Cogent can't do it if they can get the service kit. Or yourself for that matter if you are the DIY type.

2mm play on that post is fine. All posts exhibit some play, if they didn't there would be a lot more friction in the system. X-Fusion has a great video on YouTube showing how to take the post apart and regrease it. 30 minute job tops. Get hold of some Sram butter and a strap wrench to remove the dropper's collar. You don't need to pull the cartridge or service it as it is a sealed unit. If the bushing under the collar is looking shabby with score marks on it, then buy a service kit from RBC. Otherwise a grease service every 6 months will keep the post running smooth.
