Thymen Arensman, heading to the highest budget team next year, takes his first win after Marc Soler ran out of gas up this mighty mountain.
Another good defence by the red jersey as many thought, including myself, he would capitulate after yesterday’s performance. It’ll be a suspenseful final week, hey.

Funny you should ask. Yes there are some riders that are doing the Vuelta after doing the TDF this year. They are:

 DEGENKOLB John
 DURBRIDGE Luke
 FROOME Chris
 JUNGELS Bob
 KIRSCH Alex
 KUSS Sepp
 LUTSENKO Alexey
 MAS Enric
 MCNULTY Brandon
 MEINTJES Louis
 MÜHLBERGER Gregor
 O'CONNOR Ben
 OLIVEIRA Nelson
 OWSIAN Łukasz
 PEDERSEN Mads
 PINOT Thibaut
 ROGLIČ Primož
 SÁNCHEZ Luis León
 SOLER Marc
 URÁN Rigoberto
 VAN BAARLE Dylan
 VAN POPPEL Danny
 VERONA Carlos
 WOODS Michael
 WRIGHT Fred

Disclaimer: This is only the list of the ones that were on the startlists for both events. I'm not going to go through the list to see who stands to complete both this year. I know Roglic didn't finish TDF, so there are bound to be more like him.

Louis suddenly a good bet to achieve back-to-back GC top 10s in Grand tours!

Enough climbing left for him to take the required 5s on Hindley or for someone else in the GC battle to blow up unexpectedly.

GO LOUIS!

it would be great but I doubt it will be Jai or Ben, maybe Thymen or Joao

Ai, poor old Rog. He looked quite beat up at the end yesterday. Daniel Friebe had a look where he crashed and it looked like a lump of plasticene.

I can't quite believe the luck of both Remco and Primoz yesterday

I completely missed this, since it was 'n plat soos 'n pannekoek stage, I didn't watch.

What happened to them?

it wasn't pancake flat at all. After the intermediate sprint, the bunch caught a 2-man break and crested a decent climb, then inside the last 3km Rog attacked and 4 guys went with him. Then Remco punctured. This invoked the 3km rule, then in the final sprint, Rog crashed and got the same time as the winner, Pedersen, while Remco got the time of the bunch, 8s behind. Rog looked like a dazed pavement crayon. It was eina just to see the image.

Anyway, questions were raised as to how punctured Remco's puncture was. Afterwards, he said he's not the type to fake a puncture and actually had eyed a stage win.

Just saw it was not flat but also not a mountain stage, hence I didn't expect Primoz to take any time, but then he actually did !!!

At what penalty, we have to wait and see, he looked VERY eina.
