Dual Suspension Mountain E-Bikes - Best value at around R110, 000.00 (max).

Planning an DS E bike purchase, budget is R110, 000.00 max. Casual rider aged 55. Love the table mountain trails but too unfit at the moment.

What would the best buy be for my money. I would prefer a 'brand name' bike.

So far my number one choice is the  Specialized Turbo Levo Alloy.

I have a S Works levo as well as Merida e140 - 8000. Both are really good bikes. But my go to  bike is the Merida. Done over 4000 km now and love the bike. I see someone as advertising a Merida 160 on the hub. If the size is right for you have  a look at it. Rides like normal mtb when not turned on. No drag of the motor. Best advise is go to shops and test drive some other brands. You might be surprised.

Best of luck

Andre speak to Gert at Darrvin cycles in Cape Town.

R76k for a brand new DS ebike.

Bafang motor and controls, so parts are easily available.

Gert regularly rides Contermanskloof on his ebike.

It would be interesting to see how the Trek EXe 9.5 compares at the same price.
I know that it has a smaller motor and battery, but is a carbon frame and would be much lighter.
