What bike shops sell carbon rims on its own?

I have ceramic bearing hubs to build a wheelset. I am looking for 50mm carbon rims with a rim brake surface.

Maybe Black Marlin i see they have plenty complete wheel options but maybe they have an option for just a hoop.

I only see complete wheel sets Barry, thanks for the recommendation.

What about Zagon or Chain reaction, They have Prime rims at a very good price.

Southindustries.cc?

I have never imported wheels, there are some good deals on Chain reaction. what is the import duty on the wheels? e.g. Prime 50mm wheelset works out to be approx R6500, I think without VAT?

Last time I paid, the 15% vat + R350 HDL handling fee, Prime wheels were very good until I hit a pothole.

If I was in the market for a set I would jump at it, last time it was closer to 10K

Can you not retrofit the ceramic bearings into a built up wheelset

they do have rim only options

Xciter Sports in Meadowridge quoted me Around R8000K per rim for 40mm IIRC

Unfortunately, I believe Zagon aren't operational anymore. At least not in the capacity they were...

The other option is to contact LookCycleSA and order a pair of Corima Rims. When Complete Cyclist was the distributor for Corima I got a set of rims through them. It took about 3months (and they gave me a loaner set of wheels while I waited!!) to arrive and I had William's Bike Shop build them for me. Those wheel shave been trouble free. Corima is definitely a good option. You will wait but https://lookcyclesa.co.za/ are the guys to talk. Eagle Canyon Cycles are retailers for Look so maybe try them also. Not sure if Complete Cyclist would have any stock left

I can, but it depends on the quality of the spokes (if it does not need to be replaced), also, whether the spoke count matches the hubs, 20 / 24.
