Scott Warranties?

Hi fellow hubbers. I recently noticed rust (aliminium oxidization) under my top tube of my Scott Spark. The bike still falls under the 5yr warranty period. I have spoken to a number of people saying that Scott wont easily replace. Anyone else had a similar experience and outcome or can give advise? Keep safe out there 💪👍🏼

Morning, its my understanding that you have to work thru your bike shop and that you cant contact Scott Directly... Pls find Pics attached. Even the brake levers are rusting. The bike was always garaged. Not happy about this.

Sorry, I may not have been very clear.

You mentioned you spoke to people ... I took that to be friends and other riders.

When I say Scott, I really mean your dealer where you bought the bike (Assuming you are the origional owner of the bike)

Based on the photographs, the frame paint does look suspect.

The brake levers are clearly steel and rusting now. Usually components only have a 1 year warranty, so not sure how long you have had her.

You state your bike is in the garage, but just how well is the garage sealed off and how close are you to the coast?

A guy I know had his Spark frame replaced under warranty due to paint issues. Time to visit your lbs.

edit: sweat is pretty corrosive, if your frame was scratched that would explain it. That reminds me, I need to wash my bike.

Looks Like your bike has been exposed to sea salt by looking at the brake levers.

That is typical Durban Rust.

Warranty Claim is the way to go.

The brakes rusting will be the weakness in your frame warranty claim imo. The agents will see them, and rightly or wrongly assume that the bike has be exposed to the elements for an extended period of time.

What are the chances of two separate components viz frame and brakes both having faulty paint processes, which cause rusting? This would be my thought process if I was them.
