stillerjudith Posted September 4, 2023 Share I have entered the 100miler, but haven't started to train yet. Is it too late, or is it still possible? I impulsively bought a Black Friday special entry, and now I need to get there, and I also really would like to do it. Any advise? I live in Pinelands, Cape Town. HdB Posted September 4, 2023 Share What is your current fitness like, do you think you'd be able to do the 50 miler currently? If yes, then 5 weeks training plus one week recovery might be fine. https://www.princegeorge.co.za/route-info/ Otherwise, ask them if you can switch to the 50miler? stillerjudith Posted September 5, 2023 Share Thanks for the advise. I suppose I would be able to do 50 miles now, so maybe I must just get going. It feels like a big undertaking to get there and back if it is only for a 50 miler.

There are dirt roads that I mostly use. The back ways. But to be fair even the R62 is pretty safe and good. It you want more DM me. Happy to assist if I can. A ride you simply won't forget. It is superb. I do a bit of bike touring so mainly just ride around. Edited September 8, 2023 by Lynskey
JarradVZ Posted September 8, 2023 Share Apologies for hijacking this thread: Is anyone driving from George to the start in Prince Albert on Friday the 13th? I am flying down from Joburg and battling to find a way to get to the start. Just me and a bag, no bike. Thanks!

stillerjudith Posted September 9, 2023 Share Hi Lynskey. I am very keen to communicate with you re this route. I have done one bikepacking trip in the Cederberg, with friends, and unsupported, so I am very keen to try out your route. If I can find out where the back routes are, it will be even better.
