Furbz Posted September 14, 2023 Share What’s your thoughts? to big to plug? fractionally over 1cm cut on the inside. outside is only 6mm or so, but clearly the tires compromised and it will likely run to the full inner 1cm. my thoughts are new tire time. dasilvarsa Posted September 14, 2023 Share Try a Big Patch from the Inside. No Plug will Fix That tear.
splat Posted September 14, 2023 Share You could possibly stick a patch in the inside if it was a road tyre. Maybe even a mushroom plug if it were MTB. It also depends on how old the tyre is. Old = chuck New = attempt to salvage (maybe) dasilvarsa
NotSoBigBen Posted September 14, 2023 Share I'd use one of those mushroom plugs from inside but I'm a cheapskate dasilvarsa, DieselnDust, Dusty and 1 other

V18 Posted September 14, 2023 Share Mushroom plugs are such good money savers. I rarely chuck tyres that aren't bald anymore. Lekker rubber cement and if need be a socket (for the outside stump) on a g-clamp and wood block to get it nice and stuck over night. Just remember to rough it up propper and take latex off. Dusty Posted September 15, 2023 Share Mushroom plug or stitch with dental floss and seal with super glue with an internal patch over stitching. The latter will outlast the tyre. Jensie, BuffsVintageBikes and Max Headroom

Otherwise thats a simple solution

dasilvarsa Posted September 15, 2023 Share Mushroom Plug is only Suitable for Round Holes You need a Big Patch for a Cut Like That Sand it Slightly apply Glue Let it Dry Place the Patch and Apply Pressure. Otherwise You Need a Very Big Mushroom Plug. Edited September 15, 2023 by dasilvarsa Max Headroom
