Information needed on barn find Peugeot racing bike

Recommended Posts

Morning

I recently found this old Peugeot Rapport Racing bike that use to belong to my dad. It is very dirty; not rusted! I will have it cleaned and just need to find out more information and value before I decide what to do with it. Serial no. is 312807 on frame.

Thank you in advance

Sadly not as much as one would hope for as the parts and tubing aren't top spec on the old Rapports. Once cleaned up and if it has no major rust, you'll probably get between R2000-R3000 for it.

The Rapport was the entry level model in the Peugeot line up.

Even if there is no value, it will be great to get it back into its original condition.

A nice project. A good clean, some rust removal and some lube will go a long way.

Question #1 with old French bikes; does the seatpost come out and what size is it?

Question #2 with old French bikes; does the quill stem come out and ...

If you get everything moving and adjusted, check cables, brakes, tyres, spokes and ride it!
