Hi all...I have searched the forums and found bits and pieces on this but any advice on the above will help.

Riding the Argus on my 29er and wanting to change to the above slicks. Just unsure which option to go with.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks is advance

I also considering fitting smooth rubber on my wheels, but I'm riding Rapide TR29-36 rims with 36mm inner width. I'm not sure if I can even fit a pair of cheap 700xnnC tyres.

Maybe I'll end up with a set of very low knob xc tyres. Currently I'm on a set of Maxxis Assegai and DHR 2 Minions and they are super slow. Not fit for purpose at all, but that's what I have for now.

I have some high volume slick 29er tires you can use on those rims

If you're looking at the 40c folders, tubeless all day.

Stans Race, Enduro Gravel or Veyga Road sealant, pressures as per https://axs.sram.com/guides/tire/pressure. Remeber to pack some small plugs, you don't want to try to seal a glass cut with a standard MTB sized one.

If you're looking at any of the wirebead options, tubes will be better. But rather go for the big folders, both for puncture resistance and because they'll look a bit less silly on a MTB.

Thanks, I'll let you know. I'm still in two minds if I should rather fit a set of narrower XC tires like Vittoria Barzo or something similar with a lower profile for faster rolling. My thoughts are geared towards maybe doing the K2C later in the year and then slicks won't work.

I would recommend the Maxxis Crossmark II. They do not wear out fast when riding on tar

I mean you can just use them for the race and give them back.
