EVENT DESCRIPTION

 

Join Greyton Mountain Bike Club on 21 September and get ready for an adrenaline-pumping adventure with The Canola Roller!

 

This 130km gravel grind features 1700m of climbing, kicking off in the village of Greyton. 

With 95% of the route on gravel roads, including exclusive access to private farm roads, The Canola Roller is your ticket to the most breathtaking springtime views of the Overberg and the Riversonderend mountains.

Expect a thrilling ride featuring everything from fast hard pack rolling hills to demanding technical climbs and exhilarating downhill sections. Fear not, every kilometer of this epic journey is conquerable on a gravel bike. 

As one of the five races in the Cannondale WC Gravel Series, The Canola Roller 130 promises an unforgettable experience for every enthusiastic gravel grinder out there.

 

Also on offer is a challenging, non-technical yet equally stunning 80km route with 990m elevation and a super family-friendly 30km route with 300m elevation that everyone can enjoy.

A CAUSE WORTH RIDING FOR!

Part of the proceeds raised go towards the Greyton MTB Juniors Club and our surrounding trail network.

Greyton juniors is a group of 40+ children from the community that meet twice a week to receive training, mentorship and support.

 

 

 

 

REGISTRATION:

DRC HALL - Corner Main & West Street, Greyton

Friday 20th September, 17:00 - 19:00

Saturday 21st September, 06:30 - 07:00      

 

Late entries will be accepted during registration on Friday 20th & race morning on Saturday 21st.

* R100 additional for late entries

Race briefing will take place 15 minutes before the start of each batch.

So nice to see an event that is catering for the gravel beginners. That route is full of eye candy! I hope this event gets great numbers.

80km will follow the same route up to about the 60km mark and then split off and head towards Greyton...no tar whatsoever on the 80km, about 5km of tar for the long one

That was the first ride my wife ever did, and she loved it so much that we were planning on coming down from Jo'burg to spend the weekend and do the ride together this time.

We'll see you there.
