Ant in the NL Posted July 29 Posted July 29 Advice on replacing my AVALANCHE Ltwoo AX 1x12 MTB chain - they reckon Shimano is a good option, but there are several different options. Which would be the most suitable?
thebob Posted July 29 Posted July 29 I'd go for a KMC 12 speed chain. Great quality for a bit less money Ant in the NL 1

thebob Posted July 30 Posted July 30 They come in 126 links from what I can recall, so will likely need to be cut to the correct length Ant in the NL 1

KMC chains have served me WELL Best to check the number of links. Shimano has both 116 and 126 link chains .... 116 is too SHORT for my bikes ... learnt that the expensive way. I have only seen a standard size KMC at our local bike shops, think it is the 126 or longer. Ant in the NL 1
MORNE Posted July 30 Posted July 30 Shimano makes 138 link chains too. Handy for high pivot bikes that usually need 1 chain plus then some😅 Ant in the NL and ChrisF 2
Ant in the NL Posted July 30 Author Posted July 30 (edited) @MORNE Well, my rear derailleur isn't the prettiest of set ups to be honest as it's not nip and tuck and it's got a lazy swingarm look about it 🤣🤣, if that counts as a high pivot (seen here with a 36t chainring) Edited July 30 by Ant in the NL Tag
Koos Likkewaan 2 Posted August 2 Posted August 2 Always wondered if there was an affordable way go and life in Europe with our bad exchange rate. Now I get it. Buy MTB, live in tent. Sorted ! Ant in the NL, BuffsVintageBikes and WaynejG 3
Ant in the NL Posted August 2 Author Posted August 2 Solid 💪🏻 - Onze fietsenstalling is voorzien van een Beer Gear opstelling - Echter niet geschikt voor mensen 😄😄 - our Weber braai is safe and sound too 😁
