Hey everyone,

I have wide feet and I'm struggling to find shoes that have a wide toe box, I need for both road and mtb shoes.

if you could reply with the brand and the model of the shoe, I'll have a look at them

Lake shoes are a winner.! Look at the range available and go find them in a store if you want to try them on.. you can spend R3000 or mortgage your house for a pair of the higher end models.. if you get what I’m saying🤣🤣

I have feet that make people believe in the existence of a yeti. I’m female, size 6, and I leave footprints like a gorilla. Super flat footed, super wide feet. I hate shoes but I also hate being barefoot so I have to wear shoes, and obvs have to wear cycling shoes. I cramp in almost all sneaker brands and normally have to take a size or even a size and a half up from my “official” shoe size.

My Scott Comp BOA have been very good to me and I have no complaints. Feet don’t feel tired at the end of a long ride, I’ve never cramped, I can walk around in them for a couple of hours, all good.

They were fitted for me at my LBS (Mellow Velo) by Ben a couple of years ago and Richard the bike fitter did the SPD setup which Mitch (bike fitter at Mellow) has since checked and all good.

If you a big shoe size and need wide shoes also consider wider pedals ( specially road) With some wide shoes if you place the cleat in the middle of the sole your shoe will rubb against the crank. Shimano +4mm  axle for the win. Stay clear from Look. Even their "longer" axle options...

I have wide feet and have never had an issue with Spez MTB shoes (4 pairs of Recon - expert and s-works).  Try looking for the 1/2 sizes for extra width - if you cannot get them locally, try the various local spez websites (spez dot coza and specializedbicyclesafrica dot com.

Be warned that some have complained about late model s-works sizing.

The Spez road shoes give me hot foot and I have never found them comfortable.
