Huge thx;) looks perfect!

Durbie Dash and 99er routes have similarities.  Both good in the run up to CTCT (Argus)

Another to consider is the Winelands event, now known as the Rhodes Winelands event.

Is the Durbie Dash really a seeding event for the CTCT? Surely not, due to the massive gap in dates ?

It is, but you'd probably have a penalty associated with it by the time CTCT rolls around.

I think of it more as keeping my seeding current, so I don't have a penalty when 99er, etc comes around

I’m sure I’ve seen the Durbie Dash having no impact on my CTCT seeding .
Always thought the events use it as a marketing tool

Technically yes, for all three events mentioned above.

In fact, CTCT riders who do Durbie dash have to wait for the last seeding calc to get their start details.

Practically .... easy fast events, so serious riders dont improve seeding with these events.

DC is where you really improve your seeding

If you sweet talked yourself 3 start batches up and finished with that batch your seeding would "probably" improve (see previous thread on betas, etc, etc for dislaimers)

The Cycle Tour Trust is not very consistent from year to year on how they apply their rules regarding official seeding events & other seeding events they use.

However, the Durbie Dash IS an official seeding event (lots of red tape involved to get that little marketing blurb) and as it is within 6 months of the CTC in theory there shouldn't be a time penalty involved.

It is true though that as the route is relatively easy the beta is probably going to count against you, so if you are hoping to go from B to A batch probably not the race that is going to do it for you. If you have a very bad seeding and just want a generally better seeding the beta is likely not going to make much of a difference.

As an aside the Durbie Dash Gravel and MTB are also official seeding events - there the betas might be more helpful depending on how the seeding computer feels on the day.

Vines and Views MTB event was my first ever seeding event, few years back.  Bumped me way up into the first start group for 99er ...   (by the second turn I had lost sight of that batch .....)

Sometimes these lower number events do wonders for your seeding ....

PS - Vines and Views is in a few weeks time .... just check if they are still a seeding event.

Might do the gravel version this year

Now this is an interesting thought, so I might be better off doing the MTB rather than the road ride if I wanted to improve my seeding. I’ll probably be seeded in group C if I had to guess. It’s happened before where the Karoo To Coast as well gave me a great seeding
